I have attached one or two photographs taken while we were visiting Glasgow City Chambers last Wednesday. This is a visit that is well worth Scottish Clubs making.

The foundation stone was laid in 1883 by Her Majesty Queen Victoria and she officially opened the building in 1888. She kindly gifted the Lord Provost Chair to Glasgow City Council that same year.

If any reader wishes more information about the contact for visits please tell them to contact me.

Many thanks and best wishes

At the annual lunch of the Filey & District Probus Club, the President Robert Hall seated with his wife in the centre of the group below, gave a very warm welcome to Bob and Kayleen Cooper from the Probus Club of Alstonville, two hours south of Brisbane and 15km behind the coastal town Ballina, Australia.

Thanking the President; Bob (left) praised the wonderful family relationship which exists amongst Probus members throughout the world. He told members at the luncheon how he had contacted these UK pages to say he was coming to Yorkshire, and received an instant invite from the Filey Club.

On 10th May 2007,

25 members of Tickhill and Bawtry Probus Club, visited St.Mary's Church, Tickhill for a conducted tour of the building, led by Rev.Gordon Taylor. It proved so interesting that after 2 hours we agreed to return another day to see the parts we missed.

The church, dedicated to St Mary, is one of the very finest in the area, indeed, in the region. Pevsner, in his survey of The Buildings of England, describes it as "the proudest parish church in the Riding, except for those of the big towns".
The church was already at its final size by the thirteenth century, arguing for the substantial early prosperity of the community. But then elaborate and extensive rebuilding took place over the century from about 1350 to 1450, heightening the nave and the tower, to create the tall, light-filled building which we know to-day.

I took a group photograph which is attached above, and below is the church.

Members of Carluke Probus Club together with some of their wives, visited the recently refurbished Kelvin Gallery and Museum in Glasgow on Wednesday last.

This was a most enjoyable visit to what we now reckon to be the top visitor attraction in Scotland. I have attached a photograph of those members and their wives who attended.
My name is Bob Copeland, a Past President and now re-elected to the Committee.
