The Probus Club of Worksop

 

 

Established in 1975, there are 46 members who meet on Fridays every fortnight at Worksop Cricket Club. After coffee and a short business session we have a speaker.

Speakers topics this year include "Creswell Crags, A Lifetime in Football, Ranby Prison, Bee-keeping, Zambia safari, National Trust, Chesterfield Canal, White Water Rafting, Meadowhall Centre, Kinder Transport ( Nazi Germany), The Captive Queen and Rock Art as subjects of our speakers during 2008/9 Our new subscription is £20 for the year.

Last year's club outing was to Liverpool to celebrate its Year of Culture. We have four lunches for members, wives and partners and guests every year , held at the Lion Hotel, Worksop and we also have occasional outings.

Every Tuesday and Thursday morning about a dozen of our members play friendly games of indoor bowls at Worksop’s community arena.
