THE CLUB

Tiverton Probus Club has always provided a warm welcome to new and visiting members. It has a reputation for generating new friendships, and for renewing those of yesteryear. Members meet for luncheon on the first Wednesday of each month, February to May, and from September to November. Christmas lunch, to which our ladies are invited, is normally held within the first two weeks of December, and the Annual General Meeting on the second Wednesday of January. An outing of the Chairman's choice is normally organised during the summer months.

CLUB VENUE

Meetings are presently held at the Globe Inn, Sampford Peverell, where we are accommodated in private room and where we enjoy a good relationship with staff.

SPEAKERS

These are normally secured for each luncheon meeting apart from Christmas and the AGM. A list of speakers along with subject matter is circulated to members each new year.

MEMBERS & MEMBERSHIP

Our club is relatively small with an imposed ceiling of 40 members. House rules, which are contained in the club constitution, require prospective members to be introduced for consideration by an existing member, and such candidates will be semi or fully retired from a business or profession. The annual membership fee is presently £10.00 reduced to £5.00 for those joining after 1 July each year.

PRINCIPAL OFFICERS

The constitution requires that there shall be a Chairman; Vice Chairman; Secretary; Membership Secretary and Treasurer. The affairs of the club are managed by the committee which includes the Past Chairman whose members hold office for one year after election at the A.G.M.
