Stratford Probus (the Stratford upon Avon Probus Club) The club provides an interesting and sociable meeting place for retired professional men and businessmen. We meet on alternate Thursday mornings at the Best Western Grosvenor Hotel on Warwick Road, Stratford upon Avon. Parking is free in the hotel car park for the duration of the meetings.

We meet at about 10 am in the conservatory for coffee and biscuits. Then we usually go to one of the comfortable conference suites where we have a talk or presentation from a visiting speaker. The speakers and subjects are chosen to be of general interest for a 60+ audience from business and professional backgrounds.

Usually, 30 to 40 of our members come to any one meeting. Because the members are retired, many are frequently away on holidays, or busy with family and other activities. There is no pressure to attend unless it suits you After the talk, we adjourn to the comfortable bar for a drink and a chat.

We organise four or five outings a year, to places of general interest within a reasonable distance of Stratford. We also arrange five or six group lunches a year, mostly at good restaurants or hotels within about fifteen miles of Stratford. Spouses/Partners are always invited and we get a high attendance.

Club meetings, lunches and trips are normally arranged on Thursdays. This is the day we have found is the least disruptive to members' other activities and weekends.

We have enough room at our present location for several new members and we would be pleased to welcome them. Costs of membership are modest - annual membership is £40, and for each meeting we attend we contribute £3. All the trips and lunches are priced to break even and usually cost around £20 per person.

We invite you to come along attend two or three meetings without paying so you can decide whether you would like to join.
