The club was founded 1989, initially 7 members. Membership grew rapidly and our limiting number is now 60.

The club meets at the Shireway Community Centre in Yate South Gloucestershire the second and fourth Tuesday of each month from 10 a.m. until noon. Member’s wives and partners are invited to “Ladies Day” on five meetings in the year. On these days lunch is available afterwards, with bar facilities. A wide range of talks, from many speakers, provides the main activity of the meetings.

Our annual membership fee is £15 with a £2.50 meeting fee. Club activities include bowls, skittles, boules, golf, whist drives, organised theatre trips and monthly walks with lunch. A Christmas dinner for members and their guests with entertainment is held early in each December.

We have a trips coordinator who organises day trips and holidays in the UK and abroad. Members enjoy a happy and very well run club. We pay particular attention to welfare of the members when necessary.
