After the talk we break for drinks followed by lunch (currently £16.50) the meeting ending at approx 2.30pm. There is a ladies day twice a year in July and December when the club welcomes partners to the meeting.Subjects of recent speakers have included: ‘Smuggling in Christchurch’, ‘An Introduction to Bee Keeping’, ‘The Fun of Family History’ and ‘The Swanage Railway’. Future subjects range from ‘A Diplomats Lot’ and ‘Memories of the BBC’.
Social events, such as skittles evenings are organized. Outings are arranged to places of interest in the South of England. Future activities also include a visit to the home of the late Sir Edward Heath in Salisbury.
If you feel you would like to join us you will be very welcome. You will need to be introduced by a current member. You will be invited to an initial meeting to enable you to experience the club and should you wish to continue then (if approved by the Management Committee) you may become a regular member for a small annual subscription (currently £9.00 pa).
We look forward to meeting you.
