Probus Club of Andover
2008 - 2009
SECRETARY PRESIDENT TREASURER Colin Underwood John Geeny Ray Whittle
The aim of the Club is to promote good fellowship with neither political nor sectarian associations, and is open to all professional and business men residing in the Andover disrict who have partially or wholly retired from their business or profession and are aged 60 years or over. Any person applying to join the Club will have first attended at least one Meeting as a guest.
We are a friendly and informal Club with a current Membership of 77 which meets on the last Monday of each month (on the previous Monday when this falls on a Bank Holiday) when we enjoy an excellent four course meal followed by a Speaker.
No Meeting is held in December when instead we have a Luncheon (also in the Keystone Hall) to which wives and partners and guests are also invited. A similar Luncheon is also held in June although the Club still has its usual Meeting in that month.
We meet in the spacious Keystone Hall (a Masonic building) which is in East Street, Andover, and which has its own catering facilities and a bar.
We occasionally have other social activities, which are appreciated and well attended.
Our current annual Membership Fee is £15.00, and £11.00 is charged to Members at each attendance to cover the cost of the meal.
The Club is run by a Committee of around 10 Members.
